ABOUT THE EDITORS Richard A. Murray is catalog librarian for Spanish and Portuguese languages at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Previously, he was a catalog librarian at Vanderbilt University and a paraprofessional cataloger at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Rich has written about library career issues for books, newsletters, and Web sites and is the assistant editor of LIScareer.com; he has also been actively involved with ALA’s International Relations Committee and New Members Round Table. A native of Raleigh, North Carolina, Rich earned an MSLS and a BA in international studies (with concentrations in anthropology and Latin American studies) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Priscilla K. Shontz is the editor of The Librarian’s Career Guidebook and author of Jump Start Your Career in Library and Information Science. She is also the founder, editor, and Webmaster of LIScareer.com. She currently works as a freelance writer in Houston, Texas, while staying home with her two young daughters. Over the past twenty years, Priscilla has worked as a student assistant, paraprofessional, and librarian in university, community college, medical, and public libraries. She is a past president of ALA’s New Members Round Table. Priscilla earned a BS in communications from the University of Texas at Arlington and an MSLS from the University of North Texas.
